RangatiratangaMāori leadership
There are Māori representatives on the governing body of the University and in the senior leadership team. Specifically Māori-led committees and forums complement the academic leadership of Te Kawa a Māui—School of Māori Studies and Te Kura Māori within the School of Education.
Our staff and students also contribute to the University and broader society through many professional and academic external engagement and service leadership roles.

Plans and resources
Te Tiriti o Waitangi Handbook 2020—this online guide is intended to help the University’s Council, staff, and students give effect to our Tiriti principles in practical and impactful ways for Māori at the University.
Mai i te Iho ki te Pae—Māori Strategic Outcomes Framework 2020–2040 (commonly known as 'MIP') is aligned with the University’s Strategic Plan. The University's Te Reo Māori Plan 2021–2025 is designed to support our university community to promote and use te reo Māori widely.
