Evacuation

Follow these steps if you hear an alarm that sounds continuously or are told to evacuate.

Leave immediately through any emergency exit that offers a safe route outside. Look for the green and white exit signage.
Keep calm and don't run.
Don't use lifts and keep left on stairs.
Follow all instructions from wardens, Campus Security or University staff.

Do not attempt to return to your room.
Do not force smoke and fire doors to stay open, as these are designed to contain smoke and fire.
Students in halls should listen to wardens, stay on site, and wait for further instructions.
Check the University Facebook page for updates once you are safely at your assembly point.
