A cross-disciplinary subject for today’s big issues

To tackle major challenges like climate change, AI, and inequality, we need people with broad expertise. Governing for the Future brings together different perspectives to help you understand how societies are organised and governed—now and in the future.

You’ll explore how people, organisations, and communities make decisions, using methods from multiple disciplines, including Indigenous research approaches. Topics might include digital sovereignty, new governance models, or society as a complex adaptive system.

You can follow your own interests—such as criminology, co-governance, or data visualisation—and focus on volunteer, non-profit, commercial, or political organisations. This subject lets you shape your research around the governance challenges that matter most to you.
