Grow your skills in Interaction Design
Interaction designers explore the elements that shape a user’s experience with a product or service, and how easy it is for them to accomplish their desired tasks. They design products and services that enable people to achieve their goals in the most straightforward way possible.
Often the products are apps or websites, but they can also be games, physical interactive products, or services. Interaction designers are employed in a range of industries, and demand for their skills is growing. The discipline has crossover with user experience (UX) design, which you could study through the Master of User Experience Design (MUXD).
Whether you’re a recent design graduate looking to deepen your practice and build a portfolio of work, or an industry professional who wants to conduct independent research on a topic of your choice, we offer postgraduate study options that will allow you to go deeper into the exciting and rewarding field of Interaction Design.

If you don't have a design background, or you've studied a different area of design or worked in an area adjacent to user experience (UX) design but without formal study, we also offer the one-year, 180-point Master of User Experience Design.
It's a conversion degree for people wanting to move into UX design or extend their skillset, consisting of coursework along with a capstone project or research portfolio.
Digital accessibility micro-credential
We also offer a micro-credential in digital accessibility.
Learn the fundamentals of the government's digital design and web standards, international accessibility standards and legislation, and core industry best practice.
'Introduction to Digital Accessibility: Delivering inclusive digital content' is a six-week online course offered by Kāpuhihi Wellington Uni Professional. It was designed in partnership with the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA). It’s delivered by our professors.
This course will suit you if you are involved in the design, delivery or support of digital services and environments to public end users in New Zealand.
