Learn how the law shapes business

Commercial Law is the legal framework that regulates how businesses transact, trade, and operate.

By studying Commercial Law, you’ll learn how the law shapes commercial decisions and protects business interests. You’ll learn the legal framework that supports modern commerce—from contracts and company structures to consumer protection and international trade law.

You'll also develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that are valued in fields like banking and finance, compliance and risk management, and government.

Choose your study path

You can study Commercial Law as your major subject in the three-year Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), or as a minor.

On its own, Commercial Law doesn’t lead directly to a specific career. We recommend you combine it with another major to broaden your skills and give you more career options. For example, Commercial Law adds depth to subjects like Accounting, Finance, or Management.

Our BCom gives you many ways to combine Commercial Law with other subjects and to structure your studies.
