Learn the science behind the code

Get an introduction to the concepts, techniques, and theory behind Computer Science. Learn the basics of computer programming, and how to understand and master algorithms.

You’ll get a broad background in the key aspects of the science. You’ll look at algorithms, artificial intelligence, computer graphics, cybersecurity, databases, networking, programming languages and software development.

If you’re interested in what makes software work, Computer Science is the right choice for you.

Choose your study path

You can study Computer Science as your major subject for the 3-year Bachelor of Science (BSc).

The BSc gives you many ways to do this. For example, you could choose Computer Science:

  • as your only major and take a wider range of elective courses in other subjects
  • with a different second major subject
  • as your major and another subject as a minor, such as Computer Graphics and Games.

Some students choose to do a double major in Computer Science and another subject from the School of Engineering and Computer Science, like Artificial Intelligence.

You can also combine Computer Science with a major from outside the Faculty of Engineering, such as:

  • Development Studies
  • Ecology and Biodiversity
  • Physics
  • Psychology
  • Space Science.
