Create music with technology
Combine critical study and creative practice by studying Electronic Music—the first major of its kind in New Zealand.
You’ll learn the innovative technologies used in electronic music and be empowered to take full ownership of your creativity. Develop your own unique instruments and hone your individual sonic identity.
You don’t need to have experience to study Electronic Music—just a love of music, an interest in being creative, and the desire to learn.
Choose your study path
You can do Electronic Music as your major subject, or as a minor, in a three-year Bachelor of Popular Music (BPM). You can also study it as a minor subject in the Bachelor of Music (BMus).
Many students broaden their expertise by pairing Electronic Music as a double major with subjects like Audio Production and Recording, Popular Music Studies, and Songwriting.
If you’re studying for a double degree or conjoint degree, Electronic Music goes well with Bachelor’s degrees in Arts, Commerce, Law, Music, or Teaching.
